General Rules Exam Information
This event allows you to take the 80-Question Rules Exam on the 4th day of the 22101 Liberty Corner, NJ PGA/USGA Rules Workshop.
80-Question Exam Information
- This exam consists of 80 questions, each with four possible answers, testing the fundamental understanding of participants’ knowledge the Rules of Golf, definitions and interpretations. Part I (questions 1-40) is closed book, no reference materials are allowed while answering these questions. Part II (questions 41-80) is open book and open notes, however the use of electronic reference materials, excluding the device on which you are taking the exam (including but not limited to personal computers, smart phones, iPads and the like) is prohibited.
- There will be one version of the 80-question Rules of Golf exam offered in 2022. While you may attend as many workshops as you wish, you may only take the 2022 80-question exam one time. For example, if you attend a workshop in January and take the 2022 80-question exam after that workshop, you cannot take the 2022 80-question exam any other time for the duration of the 2022, even if you sign up for another workshop and program.
- The 80-Question exam provides you the opportunity to achieve “Advanced” Rules certification from the USGA.

Proof of vaccination must be physically shown prior to entering the classroom on the first day of the workshop. You must show either your vaccine card, passport, certification, or a photo of such proof, which must include your name, date of birth, vaccine type, and vaccine dose(s) and dates administered, along with a current photo ID.

However, you may show proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 which will exempt you from this testing requirement. If you wish to be exempt from the testing requirement and show proof of vaccination, you must show either your vaccine card, passport, certification, or a photo of such proof, which must include your name, date of birth, vaccine type, and vaccine dose(s) and dates administered, along with a current photo ID.
